Diabetes Camp
Fifteen children from all walks of
life attended the three day camp and we were most fortunate in having
Dr Annie Aling in attendance as well as Sister Sheila Pillay to attend
to all hypo's and other ailments.
The purpose of the camps is to
expose the children to various challenges to prove to them that being a
diabetic in no way prevents them from competing with their non diabetic
peers - in fact in many cases they excel because of the discipline they
become used to in controlling their blood glucose levels.
These
camps are funded largely by the Lions Club of Zwa Zulu Natal and we are
deeply grateful to them for thier care and concern.
